The working principle of silicone screen printing is mainly based on the fact that the graphic part of the screen printing plate can pass through silicone ink, while the non-graphic part of the mesh is impermeable to silicone ink. The following is the detailed workflow of silicone screen printing:
Plate preparation: First, make the screen printing plate according to the design requirements. The mesh in the graphics and text parts of the printing plate is open and can pass through the silica gel; the mesh in the non-graphic and text parts is blocked to prevent the silica gel from penetrating. The production accuracy of the printing plate directly affects the final printing effect.
Silicone preparation: Select silicone suitable for silicone screen printing, and add pigments, additives, etc. as needed to prepare silicone ink suitable for printing.
Printing operation: Pour silicone ink on one side of the printing plate, and then use a scraper (a special tool) to scrape the printing plate from one side to the other at a certain angle and pressure. In this process, the silicone ink is squeezed onto the printing substrate through the mesh of the graphic part.
Curing treatment: After printing is completed, the silicone ink needs to be cured to ensure that it adheres to the substrate and achieves the desired printing effect. The curing method can be selected according to the type of silicone ink and the characteristics of the substrate. For example, it can be carried out by thermal curing or ultraviolet curing.
