There are several steps involved in screen printing a t-shirt using silicone ink. Here is a general overview of the process:
Materials you will need:
- Screen printing frame
-Mesh:48T
- Screen printing ink (silicone ink)
- Squeegee:65-75°
- T-shirt
- Heat gun or dryer
Steps:
1. Create your design: This can be done using graphic design software like Photoshop or Illustrator. Once you have your design, print it onto a transparency film.
2. Prepare the screen: Stretch a screen printing mesh over your frame and apply a coating of emulsion to one side. Place the transparency film onto the coated side of the mesh and expose it to light to transfer your design onto the mesh.
3. Mix your ink: Silicone ink is typically thicker than traditional screen printing inks, so you may need to thin it out before using it. Mix the ink thoroughly to ensure it’s smooth and consistent.
4. Apply the ink: Lay your t-shirt flat on a printing surface and place the screen on top, ensuring that the design is centered. Apply a line of ink at the top of the screen and use your squeegee to spread the ink over the mesh and onto the t-shirt. Apply enough pressure to push the ink through the mesh and onto the fabric.
Every printing silicone coating need be baked for surface dry before next print.The method will increase silicone layer sticking each other.Hence,you can avoid delamination.
If you need HD print design,you need use HD silicone ink XG-866AH or XG-866A.The screen printing times depend on your thickness of design.
5. Cure the ink: After printing, the ink must be cured to set properly. This can be done using a heat gun or a dryer. Follow the curing instructions provided by your ink manufacturer.
If you have one conveyer oven,it's fast for you to bake the screen printed t shirts.We recommend you baking temperature at 130℃,3-5minutes in the conveyer oven.
6. Clean up: Rinse your screen to remove any excess ink and emulsion with thinner XG-128AH. Reclaim your screen by removing the emulsion and allowing it to dry.
