How to make the best heat transers with silicone ink?
Step 1. Take hot melt glue on the film
Print hot melt glue XG-360R-012,printing 4-5 glue layers.
Step 2. Apply adhesive silicone to connect glue and silicone
Print silicone adhesive XG-360Z-3,add 100g XG-360Z-3 with 10g XG-360Z-3B.Print 3layers.Bake every silicone layer for surface dry at 120℃,about 10 seconds.
Step 3. Apply high density silicone
Print high density silicone XG-866A-8:Add 100g XG-866A-8 with 10g catalyst XG-866B-2.Print 2 silicone layers.
Step 4. Take silicone pigments
Print color layer:Add 100g XG-866A-8 with 10g catalyst XG-866B-2,10g yellow pigment XG-203,10g thinner XG-128AH.Print 4-6 layers.
Step 5. Glossy coating
Print glossy ink XG-399-3:Add 100g XG-399-3 with 10g catalyst XG-866B-2,10g thinner XG-128AH.Print 1-2layers.
Step 6. Heat pressing
After completing above five steps step by step, place the screen-printed transfer film in an oven and bake it at 120–150°C for 40 minutes to dry. Once cooled and removed, place the transfer label onto the fabric and apply heat and pressure at 120–150°C for 20s.
After each printing pass, the ink must be allowed to surface-dry before the next pass. Once all steps are complete and the ink has surface-dried, the item is placed in an oven for final drying.
Can silicone heat transfers be made in 3D?
Yes. High-density and multi-layer silicone structures can be used to create raised and 3D effects. The achievable thickness depends on the artwork, production process and silicone system.
What fabrics can silicone heat transfers be applied to?
Silicone transfers can be developed for polyester, nylon, spandex, cotton blends and other textile materials. However, the adhesive and pressing conditions should be tested on the actual fabric before mass production.
Should I test a sample before mass production?
Yes. Sample testing is strongly recommended, especially for new fabrics, elastic materials, complex 3D designs or new heat-press equipment. Testing helps confirm adhesion, appearance and processing conditions before production.
