Technological process of screen printing

Screen printing is a screen printing plate with pictures and texts, which is based on screen screen yarn and made by photosensitive printing method.

The simplest five elements of screen printing are as follows:

①  screen printing

②  silk screen scraper

③  ink or glue

④  screen printing machine / screen printing station

⑤ This is what we usually need in the normal process of silk screen printing. It can be said that it is the most basic standard in silk screen printing.

The basic principle of screen printing is as follows:

The screen printing is based on the principle that the mesh of graphic part is ink permeable and the mesh of non graphic part is ink impermeable. When printing, the ink is poured into one end of the screen printing plate, and a scraping scraper is used to apply a certain pressure on the ink part of the screen printing plate, while moving towards the other end of the screen printing plate.

The ink is squeezed to the substrate by the scraper from the mesh of the graphic part in the movement. Because of the sticky effect of the ink, the imprint is fixed within a certain range. During the printing process, the scraper is always in line contact with the screen plate and the substrate, and the contact line moves with the scraper moving. Because there is a certain gap between the screen plate and the substrate, the screen plate produces a reaction force on the scraper through its own tension, This reaction is called rebound.

Due to the effect of resilience, the screen printing plate and the substrate are only in mobile line contact, while the other parts of the screen printing plate are separated from the substrate. So that the ink and screen fracture movement, to ensure the printing dimensional accuracy and avoid rubbing dirty substrate. When the scraper is lifted after scraping the whole layout, the screen plate is also lifted, and the ink is gently scraped back to the original position, which is a printing stroke.

Main features of screen printing:

① Screen printing can use a variety of types of ink. That is: oily, water-based, synthetic resin emulsion, powder and other types of ink.

② The layout is soft. Screen printing is not only suitable for printing on paper, cloth, leather and other soft articles, but also suitable for printing on hard articles, such as glass, ceramics, signs and so on.

③ The screen printing has small imprint force. Due to the low pressure used in printing, it is also suitable for printing on fragile shopping bodies.

④ Thick ink layer, strong coverage.

⑤ It is not limited by the surface shape and area of the substrate. It is not only suitable for printing on small objects, but also suitable for printing on larger objects. This printing method has great flexibility and wide applicability.
