The principle and working method of luminous ink

Oct 24, 2023

Luminous ink is a special printing ink that absorbs light energy under light and then emits light after the light source disappears.

1,Fluorescent Pigments: Glow-in-the-dark inks contain fluorescent pigments that absorb light energy. Typically, these pigments are excited states of rare earth elements that are excited to high energy levels after absorbing light.

2,Energy level transition: When light shines on fluorescent pigments, the energy level is excited to a high energy level. These energy levels will gradually release energy after the light source disappears.

3,Phosphorescent emission: Fluorescent pigments emit light when their energy levels gradually decrease, a type of radiation called phosphorescence. This luminescence process is spontaneous and requires no external energy source.

4,Visible light emission: The phosphorescence produced by luminous ink is usually visible light, which glows in dark places, creating a luminous effect.

Glow-in-the-dark ink can be applied to a variety of printing projects such as posters, T-shirts, signs, safety signs, clock faces and other products. This special ink is very eye-catching in low light or dark environments, making prints more attractive. It usually needs to be exposed to a light source to absorb light energy, so it needs to be fully charged before use to ensure continuous glow in a dark environment.
