Screen printing is a traditional printing method that uses a screen plate and applies pressure on the screen plate through a scraper to transfer the ink through the opening part of the screen plate to the printed object. In silicone printing, the screen printing process involves the following steps:
Prepare silicone ink: Use the ink suitable for silicone printing on gloves, which usually has a larger viscosity to adapt to the characteristics of silicone materials. The viscosity of the ink can be measured by the funnel method or the rotation method to ensure the applicability of the ink. You can adjust the viscosity with thinner XG-128AH from YR silicone.Before you print silicone ink on anti-slip work gloves,you need know better the fabric of gloves.If the goves are made of polyester,nylon blender,you must print undercoating silicone XG-360Z-3X firstly.If it's made of cotton blender,you can print silicone ink on gloves without undercoating.
Make the screen plate: Make the screen plate according to the design pattern, and there will be corresponding openings on the screen plate so that the ink can be printed on the silicone material through these openings. The screen mesh number must be 48T.If the mesh hole is too large,there is more silicone ink to flow into on fabric,hence,you cann't print smooth edge.
Printing process: Apply the prepared the silicone based ink on the screen plate, and then apply pressure on the screen plate with a scraper to transfer the ink through the opening part of the screen plate to the silicone material. Please hold the rubber squeegee at belved angle 65-75°. This process can be repeated multiple times to achieve the desired pattern thickness and coverage. The liquid silicone rubber is the low heat cure ink.You need bake the screen printing ink layer for surface dry at 120℃.Every print layer must be surface dry before next screen printing.
Curing: After printing, the silicone material needs to be cured under closed oven or conveyer oven at 100-130℃,about 3-5minutes. This can be achieved by natural drying or heating, depending on the type of silicone material and ink used. For example,the self-drying silicone ink XG-20S-1 from YR silicone and XG silicone can be fully cured in 2-12 hours at room temperature, or fully cured in a few minutes by heating to 80 degrees.
Post-processing: The cured silicone material can be subsequently processed, such as cutting, trimming, etc., to complete the final product.
Silicone screen printing is suitable for printing on products such as anti-slip gloves, because it can provide anti-slip, high and low temperature resistance, UV protection and other properties, while the printed pattern is clear and has a strong three-dimensional sense, which can meet the printing needs on various special materials.
